#17 Cougars kick the #20 Trojans in OT, 30-27.

Drew Dunning hits a 35-yard FG late in regulation to tie it and kicks another in OT after Southern Cal fails to score on its possession in OT. Dunning's kicks give Washington State its first home win over the Trojans following 6 straight losses to USC.

The OT follows a shootout between Jason Gesser and Carson Palmer. Gesser throws for 315 yards and 2 TDs for the Cougars, while Palmer throws for 381 yards and 2 TDs and runs for another.

Palmer rallies Southern Cal from a 24-14 deficit in the 4th quarter, running for a 3-yard TD and hooking up with Mike Williams for a 55-yard TD pass but Ryan Killeen misses the ensuing PAT, leaving Washington State trailing by just 3.
