#7 Cougars knockout the Bruins 48-27 to capture the Pac-10 championship.

Jason Gesser throws for 247 yards and 2 TDs despite limping with injured leg suffered in an Apple Cup loss that left Washington State in a final battle to earn a Rose Bowl berth. The Cougars jump on UCLA early, when Colin Henderson hits Mike Bush for a 66-yard TD pass on a halfback pass on the 2nd play of the game.

The Bruins respond with a pair of TDs, but then Gesser tosses 2 TD passes and Jermaine Green adds an 80-yard TD run to open a 31-14 lead. Green rushes for 112 yards on just 13 carries.
