Game Notes

#16 Rebels cap a successful season with a 31-28 win over the #21 Cowboys.

Ole Miss records its 1st 10-win season since 1971 and its 1st January bowl win since 1970 as Eli Manning closes out his college career with 259 yards passing and 2 TDs. However, it is the running game that's the difference as the Rebels outgain Oklahoma State 190-to-110 on the ground as Tremaine Turner runs for 133 yards and 1 TD to go along with a TD catch.

Ole Miss breaks up a 14-14 tie when Jonathan Nichols hits a 33-yard FG late in the 2nd quarter, and then Turner extends the lead to 24-14 scoring on a 2-yard run in the 3rd quarter. Manning's 1-yard TD on a sneak makes it 31-14 early in the 4th quarter.

Oklahoma State rallies behind Josh Fields, who throws for 307 yards and 1 TD, and Rashaun Woods, who catches 11 passes for 223 yards and 1 TD. Their 7-yard TD connection w/ 4:38 left in the game pulls the Cowboys within 31-28. However, Ole Miss is able to control the ball and kill the clock.
