Spartans jump on #13 Hawkeyes early, pull off the upset 20-10.

Jeff Smoker tosses TD passes on Michigan State's 1st 2 possessions, building a 14-0 lead and Iowa is unable to comeback with an offense that commits 4 turnovers. Smoker goes 28-of-44 for 218 yards and 2 TDs, while becoming the Spartans all-time leader in completions and TD passes.

Smoker starts fast, hitting Ziehl Kavanaught with a 17-yard TD pass, capping an opening 80-yard drive. Then he follows with a 7-yard TD pass to Eric Knott on the next possession. Iowa pulls within 1 TD twice, but can never get closer.
