Demon Deacons shock #14 Wolfpack 38-24.

Wake Forest jumps out to a 28-3 lead in the 1st half and then holds off N.C. State's attempted rallies in the 2nd half. The Deacons get 3 long scoring drives, two capped by Nick Burney's 1-yard TD runs and Willie Idlette returns a punt 50 yards for a score that makes it 28-3 midway through the 2nd quarter.

The cushion proves to be enough for Wake Forest to withstand Philip Rivers' attack. Rivers throws for 433 yards and 3 TDs, but also suffers 2 INTs as the Wolfpack stumbles a week before its big trip to Ohio State.
