Tennessee looks sluggish in its opener against heavy underdog UAB, needing a 4th quarter defensive stop to prevent the Blazers from rallying from 17-3 down to tie. The Volunteers had started strong, jumping to a 10-0 lead early in the 1st quarter before seeming to hit the off switch.

Rick Clausen and Erik Ainge both toss 1st half TD passes, but also toss a combined 3 INTs. Gerald Riggs, Jr. rushes for 110 yards.
