Given a 1 second reprieve, Texas wins it on Hunter Lawrence's 46-yard FG that punches Texas' ticket to the BCS game. Time had appeared to run out after a lazy toss out of bounds by Colt McCoy, presenting Nebraska the major upset. However, replays showed 1 second should go back on the clock, allowing the Longhorns to rescue victory from embarrassment.

Texas is able to cling to a narrow lead throughout as its defense limits a weak Cornhuskers' offense, matching a dominating performance by Nebraska's defense and Ndamkong Suh, who records 4 1/2 sacks. The Cornhuskers take the lead 12-10 on Alex Henery's 4th FG, a 42-yarder w/ 1:44 to play.

Texas had taken the lead 7-6 on McCoy's 2-yard TD run in the 2nd quarter.
