Pirates outlast Cougars' aerial assault to win 38-32.

Houston's Case Keenum throws it 75 times, completing 56 for 527 yards and 5 TDs, but also suffers 3 INTs. East Carolina does it more conventionally as Patrick Pinkney only attempts 34 passes, but hits 21 for 262 yards and 1 TD, while Dominique Lindsay and Giavanni Ruffin each add a pair of TD runs.

Houston leads 19-14 at the half, but Pinkney hits Dwayne Harris with a 22-yard TD pass early in the 3rd quarter to give East Carolina the lead for good. Ben Hartman hits a 37-yard FG and Lindsay adds a 7-yard TD run allowing the Pirates to open a 31-19 lead.
