#4 Crimson Tide pulls away from Golden Panthers for a 40-14 win.

Alabama trails Florida International 14-13 until Mark Ingram scores on a 2-yard run midway through the 2nd quarter. The second half is all Tide. Trent Richardson, who rushes for 118 yards, runs for 2 TDs in the 2nd half and Terry Grant adds a 42-yard TD run.

FIU gets Alabama on its heels in the 1st half when T.Y. Hilton returns a kickoff 96 yards for a TD and then Paul McCall hits Greg Ellingson with a 9-yard TD early in the 2nd quarter to take a 14-13 lead. However, the Tide comes back behind Richardson, and Greg McElroy, who throws for 241 yards and 1 TD.
