Utah gets big games from Terrance Cain and Matt Asiata, and record a pair of safeties against their in-state rival. After a positive drive for a FG to start the game, the Aggies get hit by a pair of big plays. Cain hits David Reed on a 65-yard TD pass and then John Peel for a 22-yard TD.

Utah State responds with a 96-yard TD run by Robert Turbin, but Asiata scores on a 1-yard TD run and Utah adds a safety and FG to go up 26-10. Asiata carries 36 times for 156 yards and 2 TDs, while Cain, making his 1st start, throws for 286 yards and 2 TDs.
