Ohio State answers UCLA's go-ahead TD by driving for a Tom Skladany's 25-yard FG in the 4th quarter. The Buckeyes challenge for a go-ahead score, but their drive stalls out at midfield and Woody Hayes elects to punt rather than go for the 1st down and win.

Ohio State led 7-3 on Pete Johnson's 4-yard TD run in the 2nd quarter. However, the Bruins rally, and grab the lead on a 1-yard sneak by Jeff Dankworth on 4th down early in the 4th quarter.
