Game Notes

Gators upend the Bulldogs 22-17.

Florida is the one toasting at the World's Largest Cocktail Party thanks to a huge day by Wes Chandler, who scores all 3 TDs for the Gators. Florida overcomes a 17-7 deficit as the Bulldogs' attack stalls after starting QB Jeff Pyburn leaves with a knee injury.

Georgia builds its advantage on the strength of a pair of big runs by Willie McClendon. McClendon breaks loose for a 53-yard run to set up his own 2-yard TD for the 1st score. After a spectacular 1-hand catch by Wes Chandler from Terry LeCount for a 12-yard TD pass, McClendon answers with a 75-yard TD run just 2 plays later.

McClendon finishes 162 yards on 10 carries. However, his performance is overshadowed by Chandler, who rushes for 57 yards and 2 TDs as a running back and adds 3 catches for 50 yards and 1 TD. Scott Hutchinson delivers a stellar performance on defense helping to disrupt Georgia's attack.
