Wolverines turn back the Spartans 21-7.

B.J. Dickey tosses a pair of TDs to lead Michigan, and help Bo Schembechler to his 100th. The Wolverines take a 7-0 lead into halftime after Butch Woolfolk's 2-yard TD run in the 2nd quarter.

Michigan State comes out strong in the 2nd half, drawing even with Derek Hughes' 6-yard TD run. But Michigan strikes back with Dickey hitting Herb Clayton for a 66-yard TD bomb and then adds a 6-yard TD pass to Anthony Carter.
