Game Notes

#9 Crimson Tide dominates the #6 Bears 30-2.

Alabama rides its defense to an easy win over Baylor, forcing 7 turnovers to keep the Bears from ever mounting a challenge. Baylor stays close through the 1st quarter, trailing 6-2 as Tommy Tabor tackles Walter Lewis in the end zone, while Peter Kim kicks a pair of FGs for the Tide.

However, the turnovers begin early and continue. Major Oglivie runs for a 1-yard TD run, giving Alabama a 13-2 lead at the half, and becoming the 1st player to score a TD in 4 bowl games. Oglivie finishes with 74 yards rushing.

Alabama extends the lead to 16-2 in the 3rd quarter with Kim's 3rd FG. Alan Jacobs and Mark Nix put the game away with TD runs in the 4th quarter.
