Texas forces 6 turnovers, records 6 sacks and a safety on a bad punt snap. The Longhorns convert 3 of the Arkansas turnovers into TDs to break the game open.

The Razorbacks lose the ball and QB Tom Jones to a broken arm on the 1st turnover, setting up Ervin Davis' 1-yard TD run. After Arkansas answers with a 46-yard TD pass from backup Brad Taylor to Gary Anderson, 2 more turnovers drop the Hogs into a 21-7 hole before halftime.

Robert Brewer converts the 1st into a 37-yard TD pass to Herkie Walls, and the second into a 1-yard TD run. Mike Luck's 9-yard TD run in the 3rd quarter gives Texas a commanding 28-7 lead.
