#13 Wolverines turned over by the Buckeyes in a 24-14 loss.

Ohio State forces 6 turnovers, including the final 2 which doom Michigan, and then seal the Wolverines' fate. The Buckeyes convert a fumble by Anthony Carter into a 2-yard TD run by Tim Spencer for the go-ahead score midway through the 4th quarter. Marcus Marek then picks off Steve Smith on the next series, resulting in a FG by Rich Spangler for the 24-14 margin.

The Wolverines had gone in front first in the 1st half with a 1-yard TD run by Lawrence Ricks. However, the Buckeyes convert 2 turnovers into a 6-yard TD run by Vaughn Broadnax and a 2-yard TD run by Spencer for a 14-7 lead. Michigan draws even with a 4-yard TD run by Smith on its opening drive of the 2nd half, but in the end the turnovers are decisive.
