Terps escape with a 21-14 win over the Commodores.

Down 14-7, Maryland rallies and wins it on Bill Rogers' catch and broken-tackle run for a 43-yard TD pass from Boomer Esiason w/ 2:24 left. The TD caps a 94-yard drive that starts following an INT by Lendell Jones to stop Vanderbilt's bid to take the lead. Esiason throws for 269 yards, but the Terps are slow to convert to points after taking an early 7-0 lead.

The Commodores take a 14-7 lead on 2 TD passes from Kurt Page to Phil Roach in the 2nd quarter. Maryland ties the game on Ric Bedjanek's 5-yard TD run in the 1st minutes of the 4th quarter.
