Illinois takes sole possession of 1st place in the Big 10 and control of the race for the Rose Bowl with its 1st win over Michigan in 17 years. Jack Trudeau throws for 271 yards and 2 TDs to lead the Illini.

Trudeau puts Illinois ahead 7-3 with a 9-yard TD pass to Thomas Rooks in the 2nd quarter, and then hits David Williams for a 46-yard TD in the 4th quarter for a 14-6 lead. Williams catches 6 passes for 127 yards.
