UCLA jumps to a 10-0 lead thanks to 3 early turnovers by Nebraska. However, the good fortune doesn't last as the Cornhuskers' running game takes over, led by Mike Rozier's 159 yards and 2 TDs.

After Rozier's 1st TD run, a backward pass results in a fumble setting up Rozier's 2nd TD to open a 21-10 lead for Nebraska in the 3rd quarter. Turner Gill's 9-yard TD pass to Tom Rathman starts the rout.
