Horned Frogs frustrate the Bears 38-28.

Baylor dominates early, and rolls up 572 yards on offense, but struggles with mistakes and finds no way to stop TCU's Kenneth Davis. Davis rushes for 168 yards and 3 TDs on 20 carries. Baylor countered with Tom Muecke, who sets the single game total offense record for the Bears by throwing for 364 yards and adding 60 more on the ground while tossing 3 TDs.

Baylor's early dominance only amounts to a 13-7 lead that is erased when Davis breaks loose for a 60-yard TD run in the 2nd quarter. Baylor regains the lead on the 1st of 2 TD hookups between Muecke and Glen Pruitt w/ :08 left in the 1st half.

But the Frogs control the 2nd half. Backup Anthony Sciraffa hits Dan Sharp with a 20-yard TD pass early in 3rd quarter to take the lead. Then Davis adds his 3rd TD on a 9-yard run. Tony Jeffrey's 5-yard TD run stretches the lead to 38-20.
