Army finds enough offense to pair with a stellar defensive effort to make a victorious 1st trip to a bowl game. Nate Sassaman guides the Cadets' wishbone and rushes for 136 yards to lead to 10 points.

Clarence Jones' 4-yard TD run gives Army a 10-0 lead late in the 1st half. Michigan State's offense doesn't get on the board until Dave Yarema's 36-yard TD pass to Bob Wasczenski w/ 4:19 left, but the Spartans can't move the ball on a last possession to rally.
