Game Notes

#18 Hawkeyes dominate the Wolverines 26-0.

Iowa's defense shuts down Michigan's struggling attack, recording the Hawkeyes' 1st shutout of the Wolverines since a 1929 scoreless tie. Michigan hadn't been blanked since 1977. Iowa forces 4 INTs and turns away a late scoring threat.

The Hawkeyes use the combo of Ronnie Harmon and Owen Gill to control the contest, taking a 6-0 lead on Harmon's 3-yard TD run late in the 1st quarter. Devon Mitchell has 2 of Iowa's INTs, including a critical one as Michigan drives threatening to cut into a 12-0 Iowa lead. However, after Mitchell's 75-yard return, Owen Gill scores on a 10-yard run 5 plays later to put the Hawkeyes' stamp on the game. Gill and Harmon combine for 148 yards rushing and 2 TDs.
