#2 Longhorns become #1 after a 28-3 beating of the Nittany Lions at the Meadowlands.

Texas drubs Penn State, while #1 Nebraska is being upset at Syracuse. Todd Dodge and Terry Orr both produce big plays, while Jerome Johnson scores on a pair of short runs, converting 2 of several Lions' mistakes into points.

Texas dominates the 1st quarter, but also turns the ball over twice. However, on the 1 'drive' the Horns don't turn it over, Orr breaks loose for a 51-yard TD on the 2 play of the series. Dodge then hits William Harris for a 84-yard TD pass. Dodge goes 7-of-11 for 169 yards.

Johnson scores on a pair of 3-yard runs in the 2nd half as Texas converts TDs into scores. Johnson finishes with 72 yards on 15 carries. Meanwhile, the Lions' QBs are just 14-of-40 passing.
