Mustangs stampede the Longhorns 44-14.

Reggie Dupard rushes for 117 yards and 4 TDs as SMU routs Texas after Fred Akers raises ires on the Hill with comments that the game against the probation-bound Mustangs shouldn't count in the SWC standings. But the Longhorns were their own worst enemy, turning it over 7 times, including a pair of interceptions by SMU's Kit Case.

SMU led 13-6 at the half before exploding in the 2nd half, striking with big plays as Cobby Morrison breaks loose on a dive play en route to a long TD, before being stripped of the ball which bounces directly to Jeffrey Jacobs who takes it the rest of the way for a 95-yard TD and 27-6 lead.
