Gaston Green, Bruins sack the Cougars 31-10.

Green rushes for 266 yards and 3 TDs, and adds a TD pass as UCLA coasts past Brigham Young. Meanwhile, the Bruins defense sacks Cougar QBs 9 times, with BYU not denting the end zone in the final minutes. Green's 13-yard halfback pass to Karl Dorrell makes it 31-3, raising the ire of Lavell Edwards, which is hilarious given the number of times his Cougars ran the score up on WAC opponents through the years.

Green helps the Bruins to a 17-3 lead with a pair of short TDs, then put the exclamation point on his running with a 79-yard TD in the 3rd quarter. His 266 yards surpasses the record for rushing yards in a bowl game, set by Dickie Moegle of Rice in 1954. UCLA led just 7-3 at the half before breaking the game open with 17 points in the 3rd quarter.
