Steve Taylor hits 10-of-15 for 217 yards and a Nebraska-record 5 TDs. After a tight 1st half, Nebraska pulls away in the 2nd half, with Ken Clark scoring on a 1-yard run after a UCLA fumble. Taylor's 48-yard TD pass to Rod Smith makes it 28-10 Nebraska.

The Bruins pull within 28-17 on Eric Ball's 6-yard TD run late in the 3rd quarter. But Taylor hits Todd Milliken with TD passes of 35 and 33 yards to bury UCLA 42-17.
