Down 30-14 midway through the 4th quarter, Miami rallies to beat Michigan on Carlos Huerta's 29-yard FG w/ :48 left. Steve Walsh had thrown TD passes on successive drives, together with 1 successful and 1 unsuccessful 2-point conversion to pull within 30-28, and then the Hurricanes recovered an onside kick attempt after the 2nd TD to set up the winning kick.

Walsh hits 24-of-45 passes for 335 yards and 3 TDs with 2 INTs. Cleveland Gary, whose catch and run for a 43-yard TD drew Miami within 30-28, has 9 catches for 162 yards, including a 49-yard TD reception in the 1st half, and 11 carries for 44 yards and 1 TD.

The Wolverines had built their lead on the strength of 3 FGs by Mike Gillette, who also missed 2, and Steve Taylor's 214 yards and 3 TD passes.
