Breaks fall right for #8 Sooners in a 31-28 win over the #12 Cowboys.

Oklahoma rallies to go in front with 2:33 to play after 3 successive lucky bounces. The Sooners fumble on consecutive plays, but recover both, and then convert a 4th down on the following play when a backfield collision sends the ball carrier in the right direction to pick up the 1st down. Oklahoma State drives back, coming within inches of a 1st down at the Oklahoma 19, but a unsportsmanlike penalty pushes the Cowboys out of range for a potential tying FG, and the ensuing 4th down pass is dropped in the end zone by Brent Parker.

The crazy finish comes after a shootout of offensive stars. Oklahoma's Mike Gaddis rushes for 234 yards and 2 TDs, while Barry Sanders runs for 215 yards and 2 TDs, including a go-ahead 1-yard TD run w/ 6:15 to play. Sanders combines with Mike Gundy and Hart Lee Dykes to put the Cowboys within range to beat the Sooners for the 1st time in over a decade.
