West Virginia forces 6 turnovers to thwart Syracuse and cap an undefeated regular season. Anthony Brown rushes for 103 yards and Craig Taylor adds 2 TD runs to lead the Mountaineers.

Turnovers play a big part in West Virginia breaking the game open. Theron Ellis picks off Todd Philcox late in the 1st half setting up a 1-yard TD run by Taylor for a 14-3 lead. Then Willie Edwards returns an INT 49 yards for a TD on the opening series of the 2nd half.
