#12 Bulldogs over-run the #18 Volunteers in a 28-17 win.

Tennessee has no stopper for Georgia's running game in the opener. Rodney Hampton rushes for 196 yards and 2 TDs, and Tim Worley adds 144 yards and 2 TDs.

Despite a bruising running game, the Bulldogs find themselves down 17-14 in the 3rd quarter after Jeff Francis' 6-yard TD run gives the Volunteers the lead. However, Georgia regains the lead on a 15-yard TD run by Worley and then puts Tennessee away with a 19-play, 87-yard drive capped by Hampton's 2-yard TD run.
