Southern Cal makes a decisive 4th quarter march capped by Rodney Peete's 10-yard TD pass to John Jackson w/ 1:19 left. After Stanford misses a short FG attempt to extend a 3-point lead, Peete hits 7-of-8 passes on the winning drive.

The Trojans were staggered from the start when Stanford jumps in front 13-0 in the 1st quarter. Aaron Emanuel rushes for 121 yards and 2 TDs tp help carry Southern Cal until Peete overcomes a rocky start.
