Southern Cal sprints to a 24-0 lead in the 1st quarter before a brief Utah State surge, but then regains control and dominates throughout. Ricky Ervins rushes for 180 yards and 2 TDs to lead the way.

Ervins and Aaron Emanuel sandwich a 38-yard INT return for a score by Ernest Spears with a pair of TD runs to open a 21-0 lead. Todd Marinovich throws for just 92 yards but has a pair of TDs before departing in the 3rd quarter.
