Georgia Tech stakes its claim for a National Championship, sprinting to a 21-0 lead and then finishing with a strong surge after Nebraska stages a rally. William Bell rushes for 127 yards and 2 TDs, and catches 4 passes for 53 yards and another TD. Shawn Jones hits 16-of-23 for 277 yards and 2 TDs and runs for another.

Jones hits Emmett Merchant for a 22-yard TD and Bell for a 2-yarder as the Yellow Jackets open a 21-0 lead before the Cornhuskers strike for a pair of quick TDs. Jones' 1-yard TD run the 3rd quarter opens a 31-14 lead, and Tom Haase hits William Washington for a 21-yard TD pass cutting the margin to 31-21, Bell puts the game away with a pair of TD runs, including a 57-yarder.
