DeChane Cameron surprises Illinois with his arm, throwing for 141 yards and 2 TDs, while adding 76 yards rushing to capture MVP honors for Clemson. Chris Gardocki adds 3 FGs for the Tigers.

Clemson capitalizes on a 1st-quarter fumble by the Illini with Cameron hitting Doug Thomas for a 14-yard TD pass and 10-0 lead. Cameron extends it to 17-0 with a 17-yard TD pass to Howard Hall in the 2nd quarter, and Arlington Nunn follows with a 34-yard INT return for a score and 24-0 edge at halftime.
