#15 Wolverines snatch hope and victory from the #19 Buckeyes.

Michigan capitalizes on Ohio State's failed gamble, setting up J.D. Carlson's 37-yard FG as time expires. Ohio State, clinging to Rose Bowl hopes of a victory combined with an Iowa loss, goes for it on 4th-and-1 at its own 30 with 1:47 to play and the score tied.

The Wolverines' defense gangs up to stop Greg Frey's carry on the option to give Michigan prime field position to drive for the winning score. The Buckeyes' offense struggled throughout the 2nd half, adding a 2nd FG by Tim Williams to go with a 12-yard TD pass from Frey to Jeff Graham in the 2nd quarter, to open a 13-6 lead.

However, the Wolverines answer tying it on Elvis Grbac's 12-yard TD pass to Desmond Howard midway through the 3rd quarter. Ricky Powers rushes for 139 yards, but Michigan also struggles to put points on the board as well.
