#17 Volunteers' speed and offense are too much for the #16 Eagles in a 38-23 win.

Heath Shuler throws for 245 yards and 2 TDs and adds 2 TD runs to lead Tennessee. The Volunteers strike for a pair of TDs in the 1st quarter and then pull away from Boston College in the 3rd quarter.

Shuler starts Tennessee with a 1-yard TD run on the Vols' 2nd offensive play. He then follows with a 27-yard TD pass to Cory Fleming. After Boston College pulls within 14-7 in the 2nd quarter, Shuler adds a 14-yard TD run in the 3rd quarter and then later adds a 69-yard TD pass to Mose Phillips that extends the lead to 31-7.
