#7 Buffaloes rally to stun the Sooners late and force a 24-24 tie.

Punter Mitch Berger, filling in for an injured kicker, hits a 53-yard FG on the final play of the game as Colorado rallies from 7 turnovers and a 24-14 deficit to keep its Big 8 unbeaten streak alive at 24 games. Lamont Warren's 3-yard TD run w/ 3:12 left pulled the Buffs within 24-21, and Colorado gets the ball back with enough time to run 3 plays and get within FG range.

Oklahoma had opened a 17-7 lead after a fumble return for a score by Aubrey Beavers and a 72-yard TD run by Dewell Brewer. After Detmer, who throws for 418 yards, hits Charles Johnson for a 92-yard TD pass, he appears to hand the win to the Sooners when Darrius Johnson returns Detmer's 4th pick, 17 yards for a TD and 24-14 lead with 5:09 to play, and then Detmer is picked again on the next play by Darnell Walker, who has 3 of the INTs.
