Tennessee sprints to a 10-0 lead, but Penn State responds to the challenge. drawing even and then taking the lead before halftime before sealing the win in the 2nd half. Kerry Collins throws for 162 yards and 2 TDs, connecting with Kyle Brady and Bobby Engram on 2nd half TDs. Engram catches 7 for 107, and puts the game away with his 15-yard TD reception in the 4th quarter for a 31-13 lead.

Ki-Jana Carter rushes for 93 yards and 2 TDs and starts Penn State's comeback, scoring on a 3-yard run late in the 1st quarter. His 14-yard in the 2nd quarter gives the Lions a 17-13 lead. Heath Shuler throws for 205 yards and 1 TD in his final college game.
