#6 Cornhuskers hold off #20 Buffaloes 21-17.

Nebraska scores 21 points in the 1st quarter and withstand injuries to Tommie Frazier and Calvin Jones and a late Colorado rally. Corey Dixon returns a punt 68 yards setting up Jones' 4-yard TD run on the Cornhuskers' 1st play. Jones adds a 10-yard TD run for a 14-3 lead and then Dixon hauls in a 60-yard TD pass from Frazier.

Frazier and Jones both get injured in the 1st half and miss extend parts of action. However, the Buffaloes' hopes are severely hampered by Kordell Stewart's miserable performance as he struggles throughout. Colorado manages to threaten late as Rashaan Salaam carries the Buffaloes with 164 yards and adds 3 catches for 37 yards in the final push. Salaam's 1-yard TD run w/ 2:54 is as close as Colorado would get as Stewart is picked off ending its last hope.
