Pat O'Neill misses a 33-yard FG attempt w/ :08 left to play, failing to lift Syracuse from the deadlock. The Orangemen appeared poised to escape with the win after Tony Jones intercepts Texas' Shea Morenz with less than 2 minutes to play, but after moving into short FG range, O'Neill's kick stays right of the right upright.

Syracuse had dominated the statistics with Marvin Graves throwing for 181 yards and 1 TD. However, the Longhorns fight back from a 14-3 deficit by scoring 18 points.
