Penn State jumps in front 16-0 in the 1st half, and then sees Michigan stage a big 2nd half rally to forge a 24-24 tie. However, Kerry Collins delivers the win with a 16-yard TD pass to Bobby Engram w/ 2:53 remaining to keep the Lions unbeaten. Collins throws for 231 yards and 3 TDs to lead Penn State.

Penn State leads 16-3 at the half before the Wolverines storm back, sparked by Tyrone Wheatley's 67-yard TD run on the 2nd play of the 3rd quarter. Wheatley, who rushes for 144 yards, gives Michigan a brief lead with a 21-yard TD run. However, the Lions answer with Collins' 9-yard TD pass to Jon Wittman for the lead before Michigan responds with a tying TD.
