Auburn stops Alabama on downs in Auburn territory twice in the 4th quarter to preserve the win. The 2nd stop comes after 3 straight incompletions into the end zone from the 22. The Tide had taken a 27-24 lead earlier in the 4th quarter on Michael Proctor's 2nd FG.

However, Auburn responds on the ensuing possession to regain the lead on Fred Beasley's 22-yard TD run. Patrick Nix throws for 259 yards and 2 TDs to lead Auburn. Todderick Malone has a TD run and TD reception for Alabama.
