Michigan snatches the roses from Ohio State, sending Northwestern to the Rose Bowl by ending the Buckeyes' perfect season with a near perfect game by Tim Biakabutuka, who shreds the Ohio State defense with 313 yards rushing. Biakabutuka's total is the highest yielded by the Buckeyes in school history.

Despite Biakabutuka's stellar day, Ohio State has a chance to tie the game after Eddie George's 1-yard TD run in the 3rd quarter, but the Buckeyes' 2-point conversion fails. Michigan then stretches the lead with a 8-yard TD run by Clarence Williams and a 2-yarder by Biakabutuka for a 31-15 lead. Ohio State attempts to rally late, but their hopes die on a 4th-down interception by Charles Woodson w/ :48 left.
