Tennessee snaps a 9-game losing streak to Alabama as Peyton Manning and the offense star. Manning hits Joey Kent for an 80-yard TD pass on the 1st play of the game to set the tone as the Volunteers open a 21-0 lead in the 1st quarter on 2 TD passes and 1 TD run by Manning.

Manning finishes 20-of-29 for 301 yards and 3 TDs. Tennessee answers 2 Tide TDs that cut the gap to a TD with big scoring plays as Manning hits Marcus Nash with a 30-yard TD pass. After Alabama draws within 28-14, Jay Graham breaks off a 75-yard TD run on the next offensive play.
