#7 Buffaloes bring down the #3 Aggies 29-21.

Colorado overcomes the loss of starting QB Koy Detmer to a knee injury with the performance of backup John Hessler and its defense. The Buffaloes are able to control Texas A&M's star threat, Leland McElroy, holding him to 52 yards rushing, 173 below his season average.

The Aggies still managed to take a 21-20 lead on Corey Pullig's 38-yard TD pass to Albert Connell in the 3rd quarter. However, Hessler, who had a pair of 1-yard TD runs in the 1st half, regains the lead for Colorado with a 20-yard TD pass to Tennyson McCarty in the 4th quarter.

Hessler finishes 10-of-20 for 177 yards after Detmer injures his knee in the 1st half. Herchell Troutman adds 91 yards rushing.
