#9 Longhorns beat the #16 Aggies 16-6 to capture the final SWC championship.

Ricky Williams rushes for 163 yards and 2 TDs on 24 carries as Texas closes out the historic Southwest Conference with bragging rights over rival Texas A&M. The Longhorns snap a 4-game losing streak to the Aggies, and A&M's 31-game home winning streak.

The Longhorns force 6 turnovers, taking a page from the Wrecking Crew's playbook. Williams gives Texas a 6-0 lead with a 21-yard TD run in the 1st half, and then produces 62 of 79 yards on a drive that results in a 3-yard TD run. Leland McElroy answers for A&M with 145 yards rushing, but the Aggies are unable to turn the production into points.
