UCLA erases a 21-7 deficit and controls the 2nd half to beat Stanford. The Bruins ride Karim Abdul-Jabbar to the win, as he carries a school-record 42 times for 261 yards (3rd best in UCLA history) and 4 TDs.

After the Bruins score twice quickly in the 3rd quarter to tie it 21-21, the Cardinal regain the lead on Mark Butterfield's 10-yard TD pass to Brian Manning. However, the Bruins score 21 unanswered to put the game away, including a pair of TD runs by Abdul-Jabbar.
