Wisconsin's defense and ball-control attack prevails. The Badgers turn 2 long drives into a 10-0 lead after Darrell Bevell hits Matt Nyquist for a 21-yard TD pass late in the 1st quarter.

Bevell goes 18-of-22 for 192 yards and 2 TDs. His 21-yard TD pass to Tony Simmons opens a 17-3 lead in the 4th quarter. Penn State closes to 17-9 when Wally Richardson hits Freddie Scott with a 5-yard TD pass, but the Lions' 2-point conversion fails.
