Trojans turn away the Wildcats 14-7.

Southern Cal makes TD drives on the 1st possession of each half stand up with the help of Arizona mistakes and injuries. Brad Otton throws for 220 yards and LaVale Woods gives the Trojans a 14-0 lead with TD runs capping the 1st drive of each half.

The Wildcats mount a brief comeback in spite of losing starting QB Keith Smith to a shoulder injury. Brady Batten enters and guides Arizona to a quick TD, finding Richard Dice for a 2-yard TD on his 3rd play. However, Dice is lost with an injury on the play. The Wildcats are also hurt by 2 turnovers, one in scoring territory, a failed 4th down in USC territory and 10 penalties.
