Freddie Kitchens overcomes a miserable 2 1/2 quarters to guide Alabama on one last drive to beat Auburn on his 7-yard TD pass to Dennis Riddle w/ :26 left. Immediately after the game, coach Gene Stallings announces his 'resignation.'

Kitchens had started fast, helping the Tide to a 17-0 lead in the 1st quarter, but then suffers 3 INTs and poor play as the Tigers rally. Riddle rushes for 131 yards to carry Alabama.
